Abraliopsis hoylei

A. hoylei is the type species of the genus. This species was first described from, apparently, the Mascarene Islands (Pfeffer, 1912), western Indian Ocean, but additional records are scarce.
Characteristics
- Tentacle clubs
- Two rows of Different-sized hooks on manus.
- Carpal flap absent(?); aboral keel long, narrow(?).
- Arms
- Arms IV are modelate in lenght; ALI IV = ca.75.
- Arms with 19 - 21 hooks and distal suckers.
- Hectocotylus
- Hectocotylus is not known.
- Hectocotylus is not known.
- Integumental Photophores
- Ventral mantle and head with scattered arrangement of integumental organs.
Comments
Taxonomic status of this species is unclear. Details of club characters are uncertain because the tentacle of the type specimen was damaged. Some previous records of this species from the Pacific and Atlantic are questionable.
