Type LocalityBayou Santabarb "(third branch north of Kisatchie)" on State Route 117, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.
RangeKnown from only seven localities in Natchitoches and Sabine parishes, Louisiana, and Upshur County, Texas. Specimens from Coal County, Oklahoma, were intrepreted by Walls (1972) as intergrades between this crayfish and O. (H.) difficilis.
