Type Locality

Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.


Known only from the east-central part of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.


Lotic habitats (see Buckup and Rossi, 1980:668-669).


This taxon was considered to be a junior synonym of Parastacus pilimanus (von Martens) by Riek, 1971, but was recognized as being distinct by Buckup and Rossi, 1980.
