Symmachia emeralda

A rare but widespread species, ranging throughout the lowlands of Amazonia. It is apparently known from only three specimens: a male from San Martín, Peru, and females from Napo, Ecuador and Cayenne, French Guiana.
Holotype
The holotype is housed in the MUSM, Lima, Peru. Locality data: PERU, San Martín, km 18 Tarapoto - Yurimaguas rd., 06°27'S 76°17'W, 1250 m, 13 Nov. 1998, leg. RK Robbins.
