Adult Characteristics

Wingspan 21-24 mm. Forewing cinnamon brown, with a cream white basal transverse band, a second transverse band on mid wing, and a costal spot that extends about 2/3 across the wing . Hindwing medium gray.

Comparison with Similar Species

There is no mistaking this species.

Host, Oviposition, and Larval Feeding Habits

The species should be sought on Heuchera (Saxifragaceae).

Geographic Distribution

British Columbia, Canada, and Washington, Oregon, and Colorado, USA.

Habitat

In dry open pine forest and subalpine meadows.

Type

Type material in British Museum, Natural History.
